Villard Fine Wines is a family winery with French roots as Thierry Villard was born in France but found his true home in Chile where he got married and started a family with two sons and his winery in 1989. His goal was to produce premium Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Syrah which were non-existent in Chile at that time. Casablanca was the region he pioneered and where he planted his vineyards. A coastal cool-climate region with influences of the Pacific Ocean that brings cool morning fog and cool breeze for longer ripening period and greater complexity to the grapes. The estate is now managed by his son winemaker Jean-Charles Villard who had an impressive resume from Chateau Palmer in Bordeaux, La Stoppa in Emilia Romana, Italy and with Christophe Pacalet and Marcel Lapierre in Beaujolais.
