A young and exciting new grower producer from Côtes des Blancs. Etienne entered the Champagne scene in 2010 after he took control of his grandparent’s vineyards in Avize at the age of 26 years old. He worked the vineyards by planting cover crops, plowed the soil with horses and farmed organically but not certified. His wines aged on the lees for a minimum of 36 months and additional bottle ageing after disgorgement. Clos des Maladries is his top cuvée made from 100% Chardonnay from a small Grand Cru village that was planted by his grandfather in 1970. This is a vigneron to watch as his Chardonnay based wines are a pure bliss expression of the chalk land of Avize.
